“Since 1996, LACM has played a role in harnessing talent of over 1,000 graduates to effectively transform musicians into innovative entertainment professionals with the tenacity, skills and artistry to succeed in a competitive music industry.” Dave Pozzi, Dean of Faculty

As a requirement of the LACM Online program curriculum, students are required to visit campus periodically. We believe that personalized online instruction, paired with intensive in-person training is the best way to prepare distance learners for sustainable careers in music.

The Los Angeles College of Music is located in historic Old Town Pasadena, and offers easy access to downtown Los Angeles. LACM is proud to offer students a beautiful, safe campus experience while also offering exposure to entertainment industries located throughout Los Angeles County.

The Garage Recording Studio at LACM opened in October 2014 in LACM’s North Building and is used as an instructional studio-classroom, but is also available to the public for rental.

The studio offers a large and comfortable tracking room with 3 iso-booths and a state-of-the-art control room with a Pro Tools HD 11 32-Fader D-Control Board. It is available for lockout, or can be rented at an hourly rate (minimum 2 hours).

The Garage Performance Venue at LACM in LACM’s North Building is also used as an instructional classroom, student and alumni events and social space.

The Performance Venue holds 150 people seated, and an additional 50 standing. The stage includes a Line 6 Pro Audio system, a standard backline and basic stage lighting for any performance.

The South Building is home to the Performance Hall, classrooms and multiple practice rooms. This is also where you will have your private lessons and band rehearsals. There is a courtyard which is used for most student activities.

It is LACM’s place to study, make music, hang out and develop your music skills.
