Application fee: $60

Reference:Your reference should come from a teacher, mentor, or employer who can discuss your personal character on an academic and professional level. Experience within the music community is helpful, but not required. You will be asked to provide the references name and email address within the online application. It is customary and courteous to first obtain the reference’s permission to provide their contact information for these purposes.

Official Transcripts:
First Time Freshman:if you are still in high school and graduating soon, or if you have graduated high school and have not earned college credit beyond the summer immediately following graduation, you need to submit your official high school transcripts.
Lower Division Transfer: if you have attempted college units beyond the summer immediately following high school graduation, but have earned less than 60 credits, you will need to submit your official high school transcripts AND official college transcripts.
Upper Division Transfer:if you have completed more than 60 transferable college credits, you will need to submit only your official college transcripts.

International Students: In addition to the above materials, international students must also submit the information below.
English proficiency test scores: You must submit either TOEFL or IELTS results along with your application. Results must be current within the past two years. LACM’s minimum TOEFL score is a 70 (internet based), and minimum IELTS score is a 6 (overall band score).Exemptions for submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score will only be granted if the student is:
A citizen or permanent resident of one or more of the following countries: Australia, Belize, British Caribbean, British West Indies, Canada (except Quebec), Guyana, Ireland, Liberia, New Zealand, Philippines, United Kingdom, United States;The student has a degree from an institution where the primary language of instruction and evaluation is English. Verification will need to be submitted in the form of an official school profile or from the International Handbook of Universities.

Course-by-course Credit Evaluation:  Students who have completed high school, college, or university coursework outside of the United States must submit an official transcript evaluation from a NACES approved evaluation agency. The transcript evaluation must include a course-by-course evaluation, U.S. degree equivalency, and U.S. grade point average equivalency.

  • Exemptions for submitting a transcript evaluation will only be granted if the transcript is from an American university operation overseas, provided the institution is regionally accredited and submits verification.
