LACM’s goal is to provide quality support to all our students and parents needing Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Office administers various federal, and institutional aid programs to help LACM’s students finance their education.

Need- Based Grant

Los Angeles College of Music’s (LACM) Need-Based Student Grants are a partial tuition grant for students based on demonstrated financial need.


Financial Aid Process

General Requirements for Receiving Federal Financial Aid

  • Valid Social Security Number
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Males between the ages of 18 and 26 must be registered with Selective Service
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress while attending LACM Online
  • Satisfactory repayment status of prior Federal student loans
  • Satisfactory payment arrangements of prior Federal grant overpayments
    Enrolled in an eligible program of study
  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Application:

    If you are seeking financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA Application This can be done via the internet by logging onto www.fafsa.ed.gov. In order to submit your application online, you must first apply for a PIN to use as your electronic signature (parents of dependent students must also apply for a PIN). Once you have received your PIN, return to the website to complete your FAFSA and make sure to enter LACM’s School Code: 038684.

Need- Based Grants

Los Angeles College of Music’s (LACM) Need-Based Student Grants are partial tuition grant for students based on demonstrated financial need.

Requirements for Grants

  • Applicants must maintain GPA standards
  • Meet all financial need eligibility requirements
  • Applicants will be notified by email regarding the grant committee’s decision, all decisions are final
  • Only complete applications, including complete financial information, will be considered for an Institutional Grants
  • Will be accepted up to 4 weeks before a quarter’s start date. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as funds are limited

Financial Aid Literacy

LACM Online is pleased to offer a financial literacy tool to assist you with money management and to help you develop financial health.

The Financial Awareness Counseling Tool (FACT) provides tools and information to help you understand your financial aid and help you manage your finances. You may complete this tool at any time.
